"Visiting Adelphi Paper Hangings was a truly inspiring immersion into a world where every detail matters."

Historic Restoration
The $40 million restoration of George Washington's Mount Vernon home brought together artisans and restorers from all over the world, including French wallpaper specialist Arnaud Fouassier.
Fouassier joined a team of highly skilled wallpaper installers to decorate the first president's bedchamber, where George Washington died in 1799.
The wallpaper, commissioned by Mount Vernon curators, was created by New York-based Adelphi Paper Hangings, an artisanal producer of historically accurate block printed wallpapers.
The 1790s design chosen for Mount Vernon, Emerson Arabesque, was originally by French wallpaper company Réveillon, Jacquemart et Bénard, and was inspired by Roman frescoes and features love birds, a common motif for a bedchamber.

“Exceptional wallpapers deserve exception installation.”
Arnaud Fouassier
