Award-winning artist and interior designer Laur Meyrieux’s collection of wallpapers is based on her original hand-painted designs influenced by time spent in Japan. Available in several formats, panoramics, friezes and domino sheets, her designs are inspired by shibori, a Japanese tie-dye technique.

A Homage to the History of Wallpaper

Meyrieux says her domino sheets are, “a homage to the history of wallpaper” as the domino sheet format is a traditional wallpaper format. “These sheets offer great freedom of

composition and allow the creation of a unique, bespoke wall décor,” she suggests.

Domino sheets can be installed end to end, side by side, in a patchwork arrangement, or with spacing between them. Different colours or motifs from the collection can also be combined to create highly personalised wall compositions and Meyrieux can also offer individual design composition suggestions for clients.

A Marquetry of Patterns

The installation of domino wallpaper requires a high level of precision. The paper must be cut accurately and cleanly, then aligned perfectly, as if creating “a marquetry of patterns,” Meyrieux says. “It requires genuine craftsmanship.”

Meyrieux and Fouassier

“Installing wallpaper often involves unexpected challenges and to achieve a truly high-end result, the cuts and finishes must be executed with great care. This is where the expertise of an installer such as Fouassier becomes essential.”

“I particularly appreciate people who are passionate about their craft, and Arnaud’s high standards in the mastery of his expertise and his attention to detail perfectly match the spirit with which I design my collections.”

A Partnership of Perfection

The quality of execution in interior projects is vitally important. Having designed many interior architectural projects, Meyrieux places great importance on the precision of interior finishes and details. “Designing wall décor is one thing, but its installation is just as essential,” she says.

“I know I can rely on Fouassier as our skills complement each other - I design wall compositions conceived as artistic décor, and Arnaud has the technical expertise to bring them to their full expression once installed.”

“A beautiful interior project reveals itself when everything is coherent and perfectly executed. This requires the craftsmanship and high standards of each profession involved.”
